OUR FIRST PROJECT IN HAITI
Balm Seeds recently received this email . . .
"We are a 501c3 non-profit foundation which . . . run[s] an orphanage
. . . I am sending you this message to let you know that our elementary
school will be open[ing] in September. We will have 280 students . . . for
now it will be under tents until we can build the school. Will you be able
to send some educational tools and t-shirts for school uniforms or let me
know how Balm Seeds can assist us . . ."
Marie Foundation is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is providing care
for the orphans and impoverished children of Haiti. The organization was founded by
Marie Yveline F. Adam in February 2010 after witnessing the devastation caused by
the earthquake that paralyzed Haiti on January 12, 2010. As a native Haitian, Marie
was especially touched by the horror of the already poverty stricken and oppressed
Haitian people. This was the driving force that influenced Marie's decision to start her

In addition to working with Marie Foundation, Balm Seeds is working towards raising
enough money by March 2013 to send teachers, books and supplies to at least three other schools in Haiti.
I, along with other representatives of Balm Seeds, will be traveling to Haiti in late
August 2012 and would like to provide some resources for those schools/orphanages
we have planned to visit.
